WHY DID YOU JOIN THE UP-STAND MOVEMENT?
For the last two years I have spent about an hour and 20 minutes a day commuting to work. The number of times I have seen people ignore not only pregnant women, but anyone in need of a seat, is disturbing. I joined the UP-STAND movement in hopes that, through greater awareness and personal accountability, commuting to and from destinations can become a less stressful experience for everyone involved.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT YOUR UP-STAND EXPERIENCE SO FAR?
So far I have been trying to help bring attention to the UP-STAND movement, mostly through word of mouth and proudly displaying my "I Stand for Expecting Moms" pin. When I'm travelling and a question is asked about the pin, I take great happiness in taking a minute to pause my music and explaining the premise behind it. The experience thus far has been nothing but pleasurable.
WHAT’S SOMETHING WE DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I'm a huge nerd. I've read every book in the Harry Potter series at least three times. I still play Warcraft 2 from 1996 (not World of Warcraft). Pokémon red/blue may be the greatest game of all time.
TELL US SOMETHING YOU ARE LOVING ABOUT LIFE RIGHT NOW.
Everything. Nobody has a perfect life, we all face hardships and have our ups and downs, but I choose to find joy in what I do have. I love my job, I have three nephews who are smart and healthy that I'm trying to set the best example that I can for, I found a woman who makes me incredibly happy, and I can honestly say I have the best friends that anyone could ever ask for.
